Russia pays nothing to Belarus but for the sums necessary to maintain its military bases on the territory of Belarus. This was stated by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrei Denisov. "Indeed, we are charged no additional amounts in excess of the required sums for maintenance and functioning of these facilities," he said.

«It is part of our alliance relationships in the common defense,» the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry explained to the State Duma deputies during the presentation for ratification of the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement «On ensuring of mutual supplies of military, civil and dual-purpose production in case of threats of aggression or warfare,» reports IA «Regnum-Belarus.»

Andrei Denisov also says that the territory of Belarus has preserved a number of military sites, which used to be part of the Soviet Armed Forces infrastructure, mainly related to air defense, radar, telecommunications and others.
