Russia Ready to Resume Oil Supplies to Belarus on January 25

The Russian side is ready to resume oil supplies to Belarus by the end of Tuesday, January 25, according to the spokesman of the Russian Transneft pipeline operator Igor Diomin. As he says, this time Russian companies are planning to complete negotiations with their Belarusian colleagues and sign the relevant contracts. 

As Telegraf previously reported, Belarusian oil refineries received no Russian oil in January. This was stated by Vasili Drobotov, chief engineer of Polotsktransneft Druzhba. «They promised to resume the supply  this week, there has been no oil so far, at least at Naftan,» he said on January 24.

Meanwhile, the Russian company Transneft rerouted oil, earmarked for Belarus, to alternative buyers through seaports on January 21.

Minsk and Moscow failed oil pricing dispute on Thursday, January 20. This issue was to be solved at the level of Heads of Government of Belarus Mikhail Miasnikovich and Vladimir Putin. According to the Belarusian Prime Minister, after a conversation with Vladimir Putin the Belarusian side suggested resolving the outstanding issues of fuel and energy complex in the coming days.
