Russia Restores Electricity Supplies to Belarus

Russia's Inter RAO UES restored the volumes of electricity supplies to Belarus at 00:00 on June 13. This was reported in Belenergo. Thus, the overall percentage of Inter RAO UES deliveries in the country's daily energy consumption rose from 7% to the previous 12%.

As Telegraf previously reported, Belarus’s arrears for electricity to Russia are approximately RUB1.5 billion. They were caused by Belarus’s lack of currency to pay for supplies. June 9, Inter RAO UES reduced the volume of electricity supplies to Belarus.

June 10, following the meeting of Belenergo and Inter RAO UES representatives, there was signed a payment schedule according to which the Belarusian side undertakes to repay the debt for the Russian energy until July 5.
