The Russian company Inter RAO suspends the supply of electricity to Belarus at 00:00 June 29, which was triggered by Belarus's failure to repay RUB1.5 billion debt at a specified time — 07:30 (Belarusian time) on June 28.

«At 8:30 Moscow time June 28 the required payment for electricity was still missing. Inter RAO expects the Belarusian partners to repay the debt and the next payment in full,» RIA «Novosti» citing the official representative of Russian company.

As Telegraf previously reported, Inter RAO Company restricted the supply of electricity to Belarus on June 9 due to the country’s arrears. The parties then signed a payment schedule according to which the Belarusian government should pay the debt until July 5. Thus, June 13, the company restored the volume of electricity supply to Belarus and the Belarusian side remitted the first installment for debt repayment to Inter RAO.

Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich claimed on June 23 that the authorities would fully pay for the electricity received from Russia until June 28.
