Russia simplifies the procedure for importing cars from Belarus for individuals. Thus, legal entities will not have to provide information on the export of cars from Belarus to the Customs Service in the second half of March. This was announced by the head of the customs control of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Belarus Vladimir Orlovski on March 1.

Representative of the SCC said that the heads of the customs services of Belarus and Russia agreed on information cooperation at a meeting in Moscow on February 25 with the Russian customs authorities’ confirmation of the status of vehicles for personal use, taken off the register in Belarus.

Thus, in the second half of March, the Russian customs officers may not require customs documents from physical persons to indicate the date of customs clearance of the vehicle in Belarus before January 1, 2010, while the citizens, who have purchased cars before January 1, 2010, will be able to sell them in Russia without reference, BelTA informs.

Vladimir Orlovski also informed that the cooperation between the customs bodies of the three countries with the transfer of customs controls at the external borders of the Union was discussed during the meeting of heads of customs administrations of the Customs Union.
