Russian Gas Price for Belarus to Rise again, Kruglov

Russian gas price for Belarus in 2010 will grow again in connection with the transition to market pricing. It was reported by the Deputy Chairman of Gazprom — Chief of Financial and Economic Department, Andrei Kruglov, during phone conference.

Gazprom representative stressed that the government of the Russian Federation adhered to the plan to increase gas tariffs and, therefore, gas company predicted that «the steady increase in gas prices to continue».

Deputy Chairman of Gazprom also stressed that the company expected the final transition to market pricing for Belarus in 2011, the UDF website informs. «In 2010, there continues the transition to market pricing with Belarus, Moldova and Armenia. Therefore, we expect gas prices growth in this region», he said, adding that according to statistics, company’s sales of natural gas in the former Soviet Union space grew by 40% in the last 7 months of 2010.

As Telegraf previously reported, on June 25, the shareholders of Gazprom approved the agreement, under which in 2011Beltransgaz may purchase from Russian gas holding company 22.5 billion cubic meters of gas at $5.625 billion. Thus, gas price for Belarus will be $250 per thousand cubic meters next year.

In its turn, for the transportation of natural gas in 2011, Gazprom should pay Belarus not more than 600 million dollars. However, in 2010 it’s stipulated possibility to pay 700 million dollars for transit.
