The head of the Central Election Commission of Russia Vladimir Churov said that Russian observers have not yet received an invitation to work in the upcoming presidential elections in Belarus, which is set for December 19. Russian Central Election Commission expects to receive an invitation in about a month.

«According to Lidia Mikhailovna Yermoshina (CEC Chairman Belarus — Telegraf), the Foreign Ministry of Belarus has sent invitations to the Executive Committee of the CIS and the OSCE, which form the long and short term missions. Parliament of the Republic will send an invitation to the parliaments of other countries, and the CEC to its counterparts in about a month, so in this case we are talking about short-term missions», Vladimir Churov said, RIA Novosti informs.
In turn, the Russian Central Election Commission member Igor Borisov said that the decision to send the delegation also depends on the current situation and the employment of members of the CEC of Russia.
As Telegraf informed, on September 16, Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov signed the official letters addressed to the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. In the letters the observers are invited to the presidential elections in Belarus. FM spokesman Andrei Savinykh stressed that Belarus limited neither the length of stay, nor the number of international observers.
