Russian State Duma Approved Agreement with Belarus on Unified Troops Communications System

March 22, Russian State Duma ratified the Belarusian-Russian agreement on the establishment and functioning of the unified communications system of regional troops of Belarus and Russia. The agreement, signed on January 19, 2008, provides for the creation of a unified system of communication to exchange all kinds of information in the management of this group of troops.

The agreement also stipulates the responsibilities of the Ministry of Defence of Belarus and Russia, including issues of ensuring secrecy, BelTA informs.

According to the document, the parties themselves provide funding for operation and development of forces and means of communication, members of the regional troops. The parties should be guided by national rules, regulations and procedures of budgetary management.
