Russia's Investments In Belarus Grew By 2,8 Times For Year

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vasiliy Dolgolev told, that Russia's investments in Belarusian economy over the past year amounted to six billion dollars increasing 2,8 times compared to 2008 year. "At the same time direct investment from Russia in 2009 amounted to four billion dollars, increasing 12,2 times," — said diplomat.  

«Real projects of mutual interest are behind these quantities, — said Ambassador of Belarus to Russia. — Project on energy-saving technologies and modernization of industrial plants, creation of new capacities are the most relevant for Belarus at present. » 

According to Vasily Dolgolev, Russia’s capital is actively invested in the construction industry of Belarus. «Right now, investment projects of the Government of Moscow, including building of Moscowski district of Minsk and residential quarter Lebyazhij are implementing», — said diplomat, BelTA.

Ambassador also recalled that Russia’s largest banks — Sberbank, OAO Gazprombank, the state corporation «Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)» — are considering possible participation in  investment projects of Belneftekhim.
