Press Secretary of the unregistered party "Belarusian Christian Democracy" Denis Sadovski announced on December 27 that a former candidate for president Vital Rymasheuski and his representative Pavel Sevyarynets were held as hostages by the authorities. According to the correspondent of Telegraf, the dispersal of the opposition protest on December 19 was called by Denis Sadovsky as provoked action of special forces.

That provocateurs, according to BCHD spokesman, gave rise to special forces to launch dispersal of peaceful demonstrations.

In turn, co-chairman of the BCHD Georgi Dmitruk stressed that the party has reiterated the peaceful nature of the actions in Minsk on December 19. As he says, it can be proved by the fact that the protestors neither broke any windows, nor turned over any of the trash bins, nor even threw any snowball during the march along Independence Avenue.»

Georgi Dmitruk also commented on the statement of the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina that opposition «crossed the Rubicon» during the rally on December 19. Powers’ rubicon is only five broken windows, which I, as an entrepreneur, would estimate at $200. Where did the official Br29 million hail from? Why is glass so expensive in Belarus?» co-BCHD said.

Georgi Dmitruk also believes that the Belarusian authorities try to use the hostages today as a means of getting something from the foreign authorities.»

In turn, the mother of Pavel Severinets, also present at the press conference, noted that people went to the square on December 19 to find the truth, but found treachery and deceit instead. » She also said that authorities had been preparing to disperse the opposition long before the elections. «Paddy wagons have been training to climb up the steps in front of the Government House each night before the elections,» mother of the politician said.
