Cell-phone operator, Velcom, is going to build its own seven-story office in Minsk downtown, on Oktyabrskaya Square. The building will be located on Internacionalnaya street, behind the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. Originally, this building was projected as part of a complex — included directly Velcom office and "Kempinski" hotel.

However, according to Onliner.by, it was decided to move a five-star hotel closer to the circus. Now, there is a streamer with mobile operator’s image on the construction fence.

As Telegraf previously reported, the number of Velcom’s subscribers reached 4.1 million in 2009, operator’s market share was 42.7%, penetration increased to 99.4%, operator’s receipts are equal to 1.169 billion rubles, EBITDA — 584.59 million rubles, informed the executive director of SB Telecom Ltd. on FE «Velcom» issues, Helmut Duhs.

«Working in difficult economic environment, Velcom was able to increase receipts by 20% and EBITDA by 21%, in 2009. Such significant results allow us to increase investment in sustainable development of the company by 34.4%. Despite the fact that investment rates, in euro, for the previous year are slightly lower than for 2008, the volume of Velcom’s investments remained stable», he said.
