Presidential candidate in Belarus, "Trivium" director Dmitri Uss used only seven of the allowed 30 minutes to make a speech to the voters on the First National TV Channel. What is more, candidate for presidency read out the information from the paper sheet. The fact that he did not tell anything about himself also set him apart from the other candidates.
According to Telegraf correspondent, Dmitri Uss built his election program on the following points:
First, in his opinion, Belarus needs to change the electoral system, which is «built on the German electoral system of 1930s of the 20th century» (then Germany was with the Nazis in power, headed by Adolf Hitler — Telegraf). As reported by the candidate, in this regard he sent an open letter to the head of the State on November 2, asking to amend the Electoral Code, regarding the right of the presidential candidates to send representatives to precinct election commission to count the votes and sign the voting protocols.
Second, one should «restore good relations with brotherly Russia,» since the conflict makes Belarus lose billions of dollars, «Trivium» director said.
Third, Dmitry Uss offers to increase the occupational pensions of the population, as well as to introduce free travel for children on public transport at the expense of the Presidential Property Management Department. At the moment, he said, «president administration property company» owns tens of thousands of buildings across the country, renting them out, accumulating everything in the president’s fund, «using it personally.»
Fourth, the candidate stresses the need to address the issue of major repairs of residential buildings, where people have been living for 30-40 years.
Fifth, Dmitri Uss proposed to simplify the tax system. According to him, taxes need configuring with the company’s turnover, not with the number of jobs within a company or its gross income.
«The laws of the Republic of Belarus should not only exist, but act without every-day changing,» the candidate said, recalling the situation with the «Ford» factory, closed after the changes of its operation conditions.
Also, according to the candidate for the presidency, one should pay more attention to agricultural development in general and agricultural towns in particular. In addition, he believes that one should continue to develop children sports education, by building stadiums in each area, organizing various sport sections.
Dmitri Uss appealed to voters at the end of his speech to support him with their signatures to make the following amendments to the Electoral Code: «A presidential candidate has the right to sent to the precinct election commission his representatives with the right to count the ballots and sign the voting protocols.»
