Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky informed President Alexander Lukashenko about the national economy development in the first nine months of 2010 in his report. According to the head of government, the projections for the growth of gross domestic product, industry, exports, and the housing construction sphere are being implemented.
Thus, the 6.6% GDP growth was indicated compared to last year’s GDP of the same period, industry illustrates significant 10% growth. In foreign trade export growth is 3% ahead of import growth. Housing tasks are being performed: more than five million cubic meters have been introduced over nine months, Sergei Sidorsky informed.
The prime minister says the Government is taking all measures to implement social guarantees in terms of wages. «Today the economy is possible to reach the $ 500 wages level at the expense of energy and materials reduction, implementation of new technological measures, having ensured 9% labor productivity growth,» the head of the Belarusian government assured.
State will comply with all the social obligations to pay pensions and benefits, as well as other types of social security, the Prime Minister added.
Lukashenko Dissatisfied with a Poor Investments Increase
In turn, President of Belarus expressed his dissatisfaction with poor governmental work in an investments attracting, which have reached only 10% growth over the first nine months against the 25% annual target .
The Prime Minister considers it possible due to the country’s high degree of readiness of investment projects, planned for November-December.
Government is confident for the economy to develop significantly in GDP growth until the end of the year, the press service of the State reports.
According to Sergei Sidorsky, the most unfavorable situation can be seen in agricultural sphere this year. Natural disasters resulted in 30% losses of crop production planned for the year.
At the same time, 6.8% inflation can be observed in the country, i.e. it’s kept within the parameters planned for the year.
