Situation with Foreign Currency to Stabilize in Couple of Months, Miasnikovich

The situation on the currency market will stabilize in Belarus within one or two months. This was announced by Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Miasnikovich in St. Petersburg on June 23. "All the economic issues of Belarus will be resolved in the next month, maximum in two. This applies to the foreign exchange market," he said.

The Prime Minister also noted that $800 million stabilization loan, obtained from the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund, will be used rationally in order to balance the fx market. «Today, there are problems with currency conversion due to the lack of international reserves. The funds will be used for this purpose as well,»said the Belarusian prime minister, BelTA informs.

Miasnikovich Promises to Repay Electricity Debt by June 28

In addition, according to Mikhail Miasnikovich, Belarus will fully have paid for the electricity supplied by Russia by next Tuesday, June 28.

«This week, consultations of Ministers of Energy (Russia and Belarus) have been held, where it’s been agreed to perform all the calculations by next Tuesday. And I think that there is no objective reason to worry about the agreement. It will be implemented,» said the prime minister.
