Ministry of Justice urged the heads of organizations and associations to stay away from "political games" on the eve of presidential elections. The Ministry of Justice stressed that the current election campaign was conducted in accordance with the Constitution and Electoral Code of Belarus, as well as with international legal standards.

The Ministry of Justice called upon the leaders of public associations, trade unions and political parties to «comply with all applicable laws and not let themselves and their organizations be involved in the political games, plotting by some individuals.» The Ministry of Justice said that one should not succumb to calls from individual citizens to participate in illegal activities on election day of December 19, as they might «violate the rights and lawful interests of other citizens.»

«Belarus is a civilized European country, consistently directing towards creating a democratic constitutional state with free and democratic elections, as its characteristic feature,» the Ministry of Justice stressed.

The Ministry of Justice said that counting of votes and the official publication of presidential election results would be made in the deadlines set by law. In this regard, they urged citizens «to avoid actions that could disrupt the stability and legal order.»

«The Ministry of Justice believes in tolerance and wisdom of law-abiding Belarusians and, above all, in parents, being responsible for their children. The country has an important task to further improve the quality of life for our citizens and preservation of stability and security in order to build a prosperous and strong country,» the ministry noted.
