Spanish police in cooperation with the U.S. and Belarus secret services arrested 49 members of a criminal gang, involved in child pornography distribution. According to the Spanish authorities, the criminal organization, based in Belarus, was active in the U.S. and other European countries.

In the course of operational activities, the criminals were revealed to have created an international network of over 200 sites that offered child pornography photos and videos. The gang was able to bring in some $2 million in subscription fees, reports Sify.

In addition to the arrested gang members the police also detained another 15 people, trying to subscribe to the pornographic websites.

«Since customers paid monthly, they didn’t want to give money for non-unique photos or videos that had already been seen very much on the web. They demanded new materials with recently abused children. For this reason, we believe that pornography was made to order,» Chief Inspector Henry Rodriguez said.
