State Employees Salaries Increased by 7.6%, National Statistical Committee

According to the National Statistical Committee, the real wages of employees of public organizations increased by 7.6% in Belarus in January-August 2010 compared with the same period last year. Nominal average salary of public sector employees amounted to Br882.7 thousand a month in January-August 2010 , in August -Br947.8 thousand.

The average salary in health care organizations amounted to Br979.2 thousand in August. Doctors on average received Br1.6 million, the nursing staff — Br950 thousand.

Average earnings in educational establishments were Br802.8 thousand. Teachers’ salaries amounted to an average of Br896.6 thousand, the faculty — Br1.5 million. In organizations of science and scientific service salaries are fixed at a rate of Br1.7 million. For example, research centers had the average salary of Br1.6 million, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus — Br1.4 million.

The average salary in the organizations of culture and arts amounted to Br874.8 thousand in August. Employees of physical culture and sport, on average, earn Br1.4 million.

As Telegraf previously reported, gross average wage of workers in Belarus amounted to Br1.2 million in August, while the average gross wages and salaries of the state employees — Br1.3 million.

However, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on 54.7% increasing the minimum wage from November on September 27. Minimum wage will rise by 54.2% an hour. At the same time the first level tariff rate increase in Belarus from November 1, 2010 will let the wages of public sector employees increase by 30%, or by Br135 thousand
