Sugar Getting 40% more Expensive in Belarus

Saturday, May 28, Belarus increased the retail prices of sugar. The Ministry of Economy took appropriate decision №75 on May 25. Sugar prices will rise by almost 40%.

Retail price per kilogram of weight of sugar sand will make Br4.6 thousand against the previous Br3.29, a kilo of sugar, packed in consumer packaging of 1 kg, — Br5 thousand against Br3.6 thousand, AFN.

As Telegraf previously reported, manufacturers and importers of tobacco and alcohol are also expected to raise prices. According to the decree № 74 of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus of May 25, at retail prices of vodka have 10% increased since May 28 — the cost of 0.5 liters of 40% alcohol vodka (not including packaging) would amount to Br9.520. In addition, it was reported that the price of tobacco products will increase by 30% on June 1.
