Tell the truth! to Continue its Campaign

In a statement posted on its website, the activists of Tell the truth! campaign report that despite the pressure, the campaign continues, and they thank all those who "supported us in difficult times".

«Searches and detentions occurred simultaneously in 12 cities of Belarus», there were searched and interrogated more than 30 people, raided and sealed the office», said in the statement about the last two days’ events.

«Leader of the campaign — famous poet, laureate of State Prize, Uladzimir Niaklajeu, as well as activists of the campaign — chief editor of «Tovarishch» newspaper, Sergei Vozniak, and international secretary of the United Civil Party, Andrei Dmitriev, are in custody», the UCP website quotes the statement of Tell the truth!.

«These days, despite the difficulties, people who want to join Tell the truth! campaign come to us, express words of support, put their signatures for Bykova street. All this indicates that the campaign do not failed to stop but spreading and growing», reads the statement.

According to the activists, «the actions against the campaign, which addressed people with a moral calling to tell the truth , is a clear demonstration of what the» liberalization» can be expected from the current Belarusian authorities».
 
The campaign’s activists declare that currently they are preparing a series of complaints to the prosecutor’s office, as «searches, detentions, interrogations, confiscation» were held with «flagrant procedural violations».

«Our calm and consistent work will be the best response to the authorities», summed up in the statement of Tell the truth! campaign.
