The Chef is Blamed in Children Poisoning in Pinsk, Doctors say

Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Brest region, Oleg Arnautov, reported that the outbreak of acute intestinal infection in Pinsk was of local character and was recorded only in nursery school № 29. According to the specialist, all the circumstances of poisoning cases among children in nursery school point to violation of cooking technology by the chef. 

«Taking into account the sudden and instantaneous occurrence of children’s acute intestinal infections cases, the same clinical forms of the disease, we can make a preliminary conclusion that the infection of children happened in nursery school as a result of the eating a dish, prepared by the chef with technology violation», quoted BelTA the words of Oleg Arnautov .

According to Chief Sanitary Doctor of the region, now «we preliminary examine the use of low-quality products (eggs, poultry meat) in cooking for children». «Laboratory conclusion will be received by sanitary service in a few days «, informed Oleg Arnautov.

The specialist also said that, for today, «all hospitalized children are at stationary medical facilities under the supervision», adding that patients have diseases of mild to moderate severity.

As Telegraf previously reported, Belarusian Ministry of Health informed on March 22, that 91 children and three employees of nursery school got ill because of the acute intestinal infection outbreak in Pinsk’s nursery school № 29. According to the Health Ministry, there were not registered any severe forms of disease in the period form 11:00 a.m. on March 20, to 06:30 a.m. on March 22.

All the sick are receiving necessary medical care. The reserve of essential drugs ensures current demand», said in the official statement of the Ministry.
