Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Nikolai Bordyuzha, stated at the meeting in Moscow on May 8 that leaders of the CSTO countries supported the decision of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, to shelter Kyrgyz President, Kurmanbek Bakiyev.

According to the CSTO Secretary General, the presidents of the Organization’s member-countries noted that Alexander Lukashenko, «as they said, acted like a man and noble, helping Kurmanbek Bakiyev and his family», BelTA informs.

As Nikolai Bordyuzha stressed, the position of Belarus on the situation in Kyrgyzstan is almost identical with the position of other CSTO countries’ presidents and differs only by the fact that «Belarusian president invited the president of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev». This is a sovereign affair of Belarus», underlined the CSTO Secretary General.

The CSTO predicted the aggravation of situation in Kyrgyzstan, Bordyuzha

«We have predicted the aggravation of situation in Kyrgyzstan. The events take place there, pointing that
unconstitutional change of power has happened in the country again, as it was in 2005″, Nikolai Bordyuzha continued.

However, the CSTO Secretary General declared that the use of power capacity of the Organization to resolve the situation in Kyrgyzstan is impossible, but the CSTO countries will continue to assist Bishkek in solving economic and social problems.

According to the CSTO Secretary General, the events in Kyrgyzstan mostly affected Kazakhstan. «»It’s not accidentally that Kazakh authorities have become one of the most active in assisting Kyrgyzstan among the CSTO member states. Everything that happens in Kyrgyzstan, automatically affect the situation in Kazakhstan», Nikolai Bordyuzha said.
