The issue of forming the Parliamentary Assembly of the Eastern Partnership is blocked. It was said by Polish MEP, Jacek Protasiewicz. The foreign ministers and their deputies from 27 EU countries and the six states, included in the Eastern Partnership, discussed the future of this initiative on May 24.

The activity’s organization of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Eastern Partnership (Euronest) is one of the problematic issues of this European program. Earlier, the EU put forward a proposal to invite in Euronest the representatives of Belarusian opposition.

«The President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek, attempts to fix the formula, proposed by the EU, with parliaments of five member states of the Eastern Partnership, except Belarus. But it is difficult», IA REGNUM quotes Polish MEP, Jacek Protasiewicz.

As Telegraf previously reported, the Euronest should exist as a forum, which will monitor and analyze the events related to the Eastern Partnership. Besides the ten representatives from Belarus, it is to include 60 MEPs, and 10 MPs of each national parliament of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, respectively.
