May 2, the first train with Venezuelan oil arrived at Mozyr Oil Refinery. The first batch of hydrocarbon raw materials is delivered in 57 cars, its total weight is 4.4 thousand tons. Now, there is preparatory work realized to pour out this oil into special containers.

During the next days, daily deliveries will be of six thousand tons. Firstly, the oil will be poured out into a special storage device. Processing will be begun when the accumulated oil reaches the level of 30-40 thousand tons. It is planned that for one day the refinery will be able to process seven or eight thousand tons of raw material, BelTA informs.

Mozyr not to have problems with oil processing

As the director general of Mozyr refinery, Anatoly Kupriyanov, reported, the company will not have technological problems with Venezuelan oil processing. According to information provided by Belarusian Oil Company — supplying raw materials — to the plant, crude oil of Santa Barbara sort is low sulfur, what will give possibility of a high yield of light oil.

Director general of Mozyr refinery reported that the plant will carry out additional analysis of the oil composition. He noted that there may be slight deviations in this or that direction, comparing with the stated data, but it does not affect the final result. «Previously, we have had to work with similar sorts of Russian oil. Maybe they were a little worse, but in general the technology is the similar, and there will be no difficulties with the processing», Anatoly Kupriyanov said.

Director general noted that Mozyr refinery receives income only for the services of Venezuelan oil processing. The rest of the logistics is managed by Belarusian Oil Company. «The company pays for transit, cost of processing and will sell its products by itself», Anatoly Kupriyanov informed.

Refined petroleum products will be jointly sold by Venezuela and Belarus on European market. For this matter, it’s planned to create a joint venture for oil supplies, 75% of the shares will belong to Venezuela, 25% — to Belarus.

As Telegraf previously reported, the agreement on Venezuelan oil supply to Belarus was signed in March of 2010. According to the agreement, total supply should make about four million tons this year.

The first tanker with 80 thousand tons of oil on board left from Venezuela on April 2 and on April 23 arrived in Odessa.
