Belarusian Ministry of Economy reported that it's planned to pump about 980 million cubic meters of natural gas into UGSs before the winter period comes. In this case, the price, Belarus is buying gas in Russia at now (last year's, lower than under the contract — Telegraf), does not affect the volume of gas pumping into UGSs, stressed in the Ministry of Economy.
«When we consider the necessary and technically possible volumes, the price issues are in the second place. In this case, there appears the most important element for our country — energy security», BelTA quotes the head of the main department of fuel and energy complex, chemical and pharmaceutical industry of Belarusian economy ministry, Tamara Ostrovskaya.
At a briefing in Minsk on June 2, the ministry representative also reported that the government had approved principal directions of work in preparation for autumn-winter period.
In accordance with the decision, the national economy should be fully ready for winter period before October 1, and acts of readiness check and readiness passports for autumn-winter period of organizations consuming thermal energy and heat sources must be executed before October 15.
«The preparation of Belarus’ national economy for autumn-winter period is standard, and we pay great attention to it, since the heating season in the country lasts six months of the year», Tamara Ostrovskaya said.
