Leader of the United Civil Party, Anatoly Lebedko, stated that the ground of Rada of Belarusian intelligentsia to choose a single candidate for presidency from opposition continued to function. Thus, the politician denied the information on termination of RBI ground's activity.
«You can not stop the activity of what you did not create. Such a decision may be taken only by Rada of intelligentsia but nobody else», Anatoly Lebedko declared. According to him, the meeting on August 11 was attended by only three RBI representatives and one pretender to be named an aspirant, the UCP website informs.
«With such a quorum it is incorrect at all to report any information to the press», the party leader said.
As Telegraf previously reported, on August 11 at a roundtable representatives of Belarus’ democratic forces announced their decision to abandon the mediation of Rada of Belarusian intelligentsia in electing a single presidential candidate.
