In Bishkek, members of the April 7 movement, whose relatives died and suffered during the events at the center of Bishkek, on April 7, are picketing the embassy of Belarus, demanding the country's leadership to extradite president Kurmanbek Bakiyev. The representative of Belarusian embassy in Kyrgyzstan gave a speech for protesters, saying that "Kurmanbek Bakiyev stays in Belarus as a guest".

«The decision of Bakiyev to be on the territory of Belarus was taken to avoid negative consequences on Kyrgyzstan’s territory», the representative of Belarusian embassy said, Interfax-West informs.

According to Belarusian diplomat, «when the interim government of Kyrgyzstan resolves legal issues related to the possible Bakiyev’s extradition to his homeland, Belarusian government will comply with all the international treaties and consider the matter on the basis of Minsk Convention».

The representative of Belarusian embassy also said that all the demands placed by picketers to the leadership of Belarus will be handed to them.

Bakiyev is deprived of presidential immunity

President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, in his absence, was accused under two articles of the Criminal Code — in the organization of murders and abuse of office», said the deputy chairman of the interim government of Kyrgyzstan, Azimbek Beknazarov, who’s in charge of law enforcement agencies. According to Azimbek Beknazarov, there are «all reasons for Bakiyev to be extradited from Belarus to Kyrgyzstan».

On the eve, on April 26, Kyrgyzstan’s provisional government also considered a decree on the removal from office of president Kurmanbek Bakiyev, depriving him of his immunity and ensure his extradition to homeland, RIA Novosti informs.

«The draft of decree on the dismissal of Bakiyev was examined at government’s session. According to the draft of decree, Bakiyev’s deprived of presidential immunity, and law enforcement agencies charged with ensuring his airlift to the republic», the head of the provisional government of Kyrgyzstan, Edil Baisalov, said.

According to the head of the press center of the interim government, Turat Akimov, to speak about «the adoption of this decree is still too early, because the document has not come to be signed by the head of the interim government, Rosa Otunbayeva, yet».

In Kyrgyzstan, a criminal case on the death of people during a rally, organized by the opposition on April 7 in Bishkek, when there were over 80 people dead, is initiated against Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
