The number of Belarusians, whose travels abroad was temporarily limited for several reasons, can be reduced in 1.5 times in the near future. It was reported on June 10 by the Chief of passport work and travels abroad of department of citizenship and migration of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dmitry Levchenko.
Ministry of Internal Affairs representative believes that it will happen thanks to modernization of the database of «restricted to leave» Belarus’ citizens, BelaPAN informs. «Now, the databank contains information on approximately 120 thousand citizens», Dmitry Levchenko reminded.
According to the ministry representative, these innovations — stipulated by the law on the order of Belarusian citizens’ travels abroad and Belarusian citizens come back to the country, entered into force on March 30, 2010 — will reduce the number of «restricted to leave» Belarusians to 70-80 thousand people.
«Such an opportunity is provided thanks to alternative approach, stipulated by law, to the issue of including or non-including of concrete citizen in the databank. This decision will be made by the investigator», Dmitry Levchenko noted.
