The Second Tanker of Venezuelan Oil Cost Cheaper than the First One, Belstat

In connection with prices reduction in the world market, the price of oil imported from Venezuela in June was lower than in May. While Belarus paid $656 per ton purchasing the first batch of oil, oil price of the second batch fell to $568 per ton. It was reported in the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

In May-June 2010, Belarus imported 114.9 thousand tons of oil from Venezuela in total with average price of $629 per ton. At the same time, the average cost of crude oil imported in January-June from Russia amounted to $396 per ton. During the H1 of 2010 Belarusian oil refineries bought 6.4 million tons of oil from Russia, almost half of which were imported duty free, AFN informs.

In 2010, Belarus has a right to import 6.3 million tons of duty free oil from Russia. The rest amount of oil is subjected to 100% export duty, equal to $263.8 per ton in August.

The export duty on Russian oil to increase by $9.7 from September 1

At the same time, according to RIA Novosti, export duty on Russian oil may increase by $9.7 per ton from September 1, 2010.

«The average price of monitoring from July 15, 2010 to August 14 of this year amounted to $76.4 per barrel, and maximum duty may amount to $273.5 per ton», the head of consolidated analysis department of Finance Ministry of Russia, Alexander Sakovich, reported.

Export duty for light oil products will amount to $196.5 per ton ($190 now), $105.9 ($102.4 now) for heavy oil. Russian government will make a final decision on oil export duty rates in late August.
