Site of Belarusian Atomic Power Station to Be Determined after Completion of EIE

The final decision about a site of the future Belarusian atomic power station will be accepted after completion of the report on estimation its influence on environment (EIE). Alexander Andreev , who is the head of the department of the state ecological examination of the ministry of natural resources and preservation of the environment of Belarus, informed about it on June, 2nd.

Alexander Andreev reminded that the Astravets platform in the Hrodna area is chosen priority for building of the Belarusian atomic power station. Also the representative of the Ministry of Natural Resources noticed that process of completion EIE is not finished yet, BelTA informs.

«Everything depends on the terms of carrying out the consultations on the report on estimation the influence of the Belarusian atomic power station on environment, which are to be held in Ukraine and Lithuania. They are postponed since May for June of this year on the initiative of these countries», the head of department said, having added that it is supposed that in Lithuania consultations will pass on June, 18th and in Ukraine on June, 14-17th.

Alexander Andreev noticed also, that the remarks and offers of the all interested countries will be taken into account, while completing EIE. Then the report will be examined by the state ecological examination.
