First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Igor Shuvalov, believes that the CIS Economic Court will not have time to take decision on a Belarusian lawsuit to Russia on levying customs duties on oil products before the formation of common economic space and abolishment of customs duties.

«We proceed from that Russia has real legal advantages of the case. Secondly, we proceed from that it is a difficult dispute and the process of consideration and making decision will take a considerable time», Russian Deputy Prime Minister said.

«Frankly speaking, I think that we are already able to reach an agreement on forming common economic space, which will abolish export duties until the court takes its decision about this case», Igor Shuvalov said.

According to the vice-premier, both states have to look for real outcome of the situation, way out to positive development, but not to return permanently to the controversial positions which hamper in progress, RIA Novosti reports.

«That’s why I do not think the court will have the opportunity to find a solution for this dispute in the coming months. This dispute would take a long time», the deputy chairman of Russian government assured, adding that while the court continues, customs duties are still being levied.

Belarus applied to the CIS Economic Court with the lawsuit on incompetence of levying customs duties on oil imported to Belarus.
