U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, expressed support for the policy of the EU and European Parliament towards Belarus. It was reported by the EP President, Jerzy Buzek, on April 27 after a meeting with Hillary Clinton in Washington.
Jerzy Buzek stressed that Hillary Clinton supported the idea of creation of Parliamentary Assembly of the Eastern Partnership (Euronest), based on «respect for common values», AFN reports. The U.S. mass media also have an opinion that the head of the European Parliament was «surprised at Hillary Clinton’s awareness of the situation in Belarus».
The head of the European Parliament pointed to the positive experience to expand and stabilize the region adjacent to the EU. «It is better to annoy than to kill», Jerzy Buzek said, commenting on the priority of negotiations over the use of force for the EU.
