During "Vybor" ("The Choice") talk show on ONT TV channel, Deputy Economy Minister of Belarus, Anatoly Filonov, said that Naftan and GrodnoAzot enterprises may soon be privatized. 'Privatization may be beneficial for several reasons: the arrival of new technology, opening of new markets, emergence of raw materials' reliable source. In this case, we'll get a reliable source of raw material", the deputy minister noted.
Anatoly Filonov reported that privatization may occur in the process of Belarusian and Russian petrochemical complexes’ integration. According to deputy head of the Ministry of Economy, it will give the possibility to provide raw materials for Belarusian processing plants, BDG Delovaya Gazeta informs.
At present, the oil for Belarusian oil refineries comes from Russia. At the same time, Russian oil companies work with Belarusian oil refineries using the subsidiaries. So, 70% of oil comes to Mozyr oil refinery exactly through Russian companies’ subsidiaries working in Belarus.
