There is Potential for Salary Growth in Belarus, Ministry of Finance

There is potential for growth of salaries in Belarus, the head of the Ministry of Finance Andrey Kharkovets stated on June, 10th, answering the journalists' questions, whether the tariff rate of the first category would increase in Belarus in near future.

«Now the national economy objectively is growing. I think that in near future the decision on wages growth will be declared», Andrey Kharkovets said, BelTA informs.

As Telegraf informed, the head of the Ministry of Finance declared earlier that according to the plans of authorities the average salary of an employee of a government-financed organization should amount 420 dollars in equivalent by the end of 2010. According to Andrey Kharkovets, this amount appears from the average salary in industrial sector, which is planned to be 500 dollars at the end of this year.

«The usual salary of an employee of a government-financed organization lags behind the salary of the industrialist on about 20 %. Therefore I hope that by the end of 2010 the employees of the government-financed organizations will receive 420 dollars», Minister of Finance said.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry emphasized that these figures would become real, only if the industrial sector reached the planned parametres of 2010.

Besides, Andrey Kharkovets declared that the average size of pension in Belarus in 2010 would increase by 18 % and would amount 472 thousand roubles. «Pension growth is provided by the bill of the budget,  of the State off-budget Fund of Social Protection», the head of the Ministry of Finance informed.
