Moscow area traffic police has not confirmed the information that on August 15 in Ruza district of Moscow region, Russian Federation, inspectors detained Belarusian president's assistant for special assignments, Colonel-General Viktor Sheiman, for speeding and going out into oncoming traffic.

Previously, Internet edition Lifenews reported that Belarusian president’s assistant was driving his Toyota Land Cruiser from Moscow to Belarus, accompanied by Moscow region traffic police officers till 80th km of Minsk highway. Later, the escort left and all traffic police post was instructed to provide «green light» for Sheiman.

However, for some technical reasons, not every post received the instructions, and at 131st km of Minsk highway traffic police officers stopped the official’s car. It was reported that after verification of identity Viktor Sheiman was released without issuing any fines or documents.

Nevertheless, Mayak reports that Moscow area traffic police does not confirm this information.
