Gao Hucheng,Vice Minister of Commerce of China, stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus in 1992, bilateral trade turnover increased 13 times, reaching 810 million dollars last year.
«At present, China is largest trading partner of Belarus, which took eighth place among the CIS countries in terms of trade with China,» — said Gao Huchen in anticipation of Vice President Xi Jinping’s visit to Minsk.
«Against the background of dynamic growth in bilateral trade, commodity nomenclature is steadly improving. Share of drugs, auto parts and accessories, electronics, machinery and high-tech products increased» — said Deputy Minister of Trade, the Belarusian Bureau Itar-Tass informed.
According to the Ministry of Trade of China, the opportunities for further development of cooperation between the countries caused by complementarity of their economies. «Belarus has a serious scientific and technical capabilities, advanced engineering and skilled labor force, and China — the developed markets, the possibility to produce various kinds of products and growing financial capacity «- the deputy minister explained.
Gao Hucheng stressed that the common tasks for both countries now are to overcome the effects of global financial crisis and to restore national economy.
«Measures of economic stimulation taken by Beijing and Minsk will open unprecedented opportunities for the participation of the enterprises of two countries in joint economic projects», — said Deputy Minister of Commerce of the PRC.
