March 11co-chair of the joint Belarusian-Venezuelan high-level commission Viktor Sheiman at a meeting of the Belarusian-Venezuelan Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in Caracas said that trade turnover between Belarus and Venezuela in 2010 could exceed one billion dollars. "The trade volume between Belarus and Venezuela in recent years has steadily increased", — emphasized the co-chair.
«This year, thanks to active cooperation, we can talk about large-scale projects in various areas of trade and economic, scientific-technical cooperation and collaboration in other areas,» — said Viktor Sheiman.
The representative of Belarus was satisfied with the development of cooperation between two countries, including the development of political cooperation between Belarus and Venezuela on the international arena, but also drew attention to the similarity attitudes of the two countries concernong the future of the world.
Belarus and Venezuela complemeneach other, Semashko said.
First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said that the distance between Belarus and Venezuela will never be an obstacle to the development of Belarusian-Venezuelan relations, stressing that practical realization of large-scale trade projects is started , BelTA informs.
«From a simple trade, we turn to more sophisticated forms of cooperation, mutually complementing each other’s potential», — said Vladimir Semashko.
Belarusian Vice-Premier noted that joint projects in petroleum, seismic, gas supply, architecture and construction, industry, agriculture and food science were successfully implemented.
«In the current adverse conditions, Belarus and Venezuela co-ordinate actions in the foreign trade, rapidly putting into practice already planned large-scale joint economic cooperation projects, using new forms of cooperation» — stressed Vladimir Semashko.
The representative of the Belarusian delegation drew attention to the fact that cooperation between the countries reached the level of strategic partnership, as proved by bilateral contacts of various levels.
