Director General of the Russian company Uralkali Vladislav Baumgertner informed on June 28 about extremely low probability of Belaruskali controlling stake purchase in the near future. However, the head of the Russian company admits that Belaruskali is an interesting asset.

«We’re interested in Belaruskali in terms of mergers and acquisitions; we’ve already had experience of partnership with this company,» RIA» Novosti» citing Vladislav Baumgertner.

During the XV Annual Investor Conference Vladislav Baumgertner reiterated that Uralkali was currently in no negotiations with the Belarusian side with regards to the purchase deal — either directly with Belaruskali leadership or with the government.

As Telegraf previously reported, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko did not rule out the possibility of selling Belaruskali shares to the Russian company Uralkali. «We are absolutely not against the sale of stakes of our joint stock companies, including Belaruskali,» said Alexander Lukashenko. He also assessed the company at no less than $30 billion.
