Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez said on May 16 that Venezuela continues to supply swap scheme oil to Belarus "with certain regularity." According to the bilateral agreement, the company Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) is due to annually provide the Belarusian Oil Company with ten million tons of light oil.

«To reduce the cost of the Belarusian side, part of oil supplies of the same quality is carried out through the Eurasian partner, to which PDVSA company sells «Santa Barbara» crude oil in Venezuelan ports with a view to its subsequent sale on the South American market. All parties benefit in this case,» Americo Diaz Nunez said during videobriefing, conducted at the portal of the Union State.

As Telegraf previously reported, the Ambassador stated during a press conference on February 2 that the main aim of Venezuela is to «load both Belarusian oil refineries so that they could work in a regular mode.» To this end, Venezuela intends to increase oil supplies to Belarus through Lithuania. It was als offered to deliver oil via Odessa in Ukraine.
