April 8, a source at Mozyr oil refinery informed that the first tanker with 80 thousand tons of oil went from Venezuela to Belarus on April 2. According to the representative of Belarusian oil refinery, tanker's road to Odessa will take about 28 days, and then oil will go Belarus by rail transport.

In his turn, a source in Odessa port said in interview to Reuters that the date of oil arrival for Belarus on Ukrainian territory is April 23.

As Telegraf previously reported, the agreement on oil supplies from Venezuela to Belarus in the amount of 80 thousand barrels per day was reached by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during the negotiations with his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez. As two leaders agreed, the first trial consignment in amount of 80 thousand tons should come to Belarus in May.

The decision to establish the supply of oil from Venezuela, was taken by Belarusian leader after Russia had applied 100-percent export duty on all oil, delivered to Belarus, except 6.3 million tons per year, which country needs for domestic consumption.

According to many experts, because of high transportation costs for oil supplies from Venezuela, it could be beneficial for Belarus only on condition that its price is far below the market.
