Mozyr Oil Refinery will receive the second batch of Venezuelan oil in June. These 80 thousand tons will be delivered in the same manner as the first one — in tanker by sea to Odessa, and then by rail to Belarus.

It was said at VII Gomel Economic Forum on May 20 by second secretary, head of the department of trade and economic cooperation of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Belarus, Maria Elena Rojas, BelTA informs.

Mozyr Oil Refinery has already completed to process the first trial consignment of Venezuelan oil arrived in Belarus in May. At the same time, the price at which Belarus buys oil from Venezuela, as well as the cost of delivery were not officially announced.

As Telegraf previously reported, Russian experts from National Energy Security Fund state that profitability of oil supplies from Venezuela to Belarus looks pretty doubtful. According to the analyst, Igor Yushkov, if Hugo Chavez «supplies oil for free, and Belarus pays only for transit, then this project will be profitable».

The expert notes that the emergence of information about the price of Ukrainian transit have not clarified the issue of calculating the cost of Venezuelan oil to Belarus.

«The emergence of information on the price of Ukrainian transit, for sure, somehow corrects the data, but initially we should base on the selling price. Venezuela has not announced the cost of oil it sells to Belarusians. We know that Hugo Chavez sets the price in fact by his personal decision, and for many countries, such as Cuba and Nicaragua, part of Venezuelan oil is supplied for free», Igor Yushkov said.
