Vienna, Ministry of Energy Speaks about Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant's Safety

May 10-11, in Austrian capital, Vienna, there are being held the hearings and consultations on the report assessing the environmental impact of Belarusian nuclear power plant. It was reported in Belarusian Ministry of Energy. Belarusian delegation includes experts of Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Natural Resources, Hygiene medical center of Ministry of Health, Institute of Radiology.

The Ministry also informed that for the end of May, there scheduled consultations on the mentioned report with Polish part in Warsaw.

«After these activities completed, a report on assessment of the environmental impact of Belarusian nuclear power plant will be improved by experts, taking into account the received comments and suggestions, and directed to carry out state ecological expertise», reported in the Ministry of Energy.

As Telegraf previously reported, Lithuanian Ministry of Environment prepared and transmitted to Belarus a document containing an official position on Belarusian nuclear plant construction in 55 kilometers from Vilnius, in Ostrovetsky district.

The document states that «the impact assessment of future nuclear power plant on the environment is not sufficiently comprehensive», due to this fact, Lithuania asks Belarusian side to repeat a presentation of the plant project.
