Lithuania expects this week to sign an agreement with Belarus on the transit of Venezuelan oil. "We hope this week to decide on this issue" — said the general manager of the Lithuanian Klaipedos nafta company Rokas Masiulis and added that the sides were holding "commercial negotiations".

«Our proposals to the Belarusian side are known, but in this case the Belarusian side selects. We are just some of the potential partners to provide services on oil transit,» Rokas Masiulis said, «Narodnaya Volia» informs.
As Telegraf informed, in early October, Belarus and Lithuania agreed on transit of Venezuelan oil through the Klaipeda seaport. «We agreed that, beginning from December 2010 (January 1, 2011 is a deadline) we are ready to guarantee 2.5 million tons of oil delivery to Klaipeda and its further transportation to our refineries, primarily by Navapolatsk rail,» First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said.
