Volume of Foreign Investment Falls in 2.2 Times, the National Bank

In the first quarter of 2010 the National Bank of Belarus recorded the reduction of the inflow of capital on account of operations with capital and financial transactions of the balance of payments in 2.2 times in comparison with January-March 2009. At the beginning of the year, the inflow of foreign investment amounted to 1.293 billion dollars, reported in the National Bank.

As informed in the country’s main bank, in January-March 2010 the balance of direct investment decreased by 10.1%, compared to the same period of 2009, to 901.2 million dollars, PRIME-TASS informs.

As regards portfolio investment, then in the first quarter of 2010 their balance was minus 9.8 million dollars against plus 9.4 million dollars in January-March of last year.
