Belarus is being implementing approved rates of wages. The average wage in Belarus amounted to $430 in September, with $331 in the public sector. This was stated by Prime Minister Sergei Sidorski in Polotsk on November 12. "But the question is not in the salary growth, but in its improvement through enterprise profitability, thus leading to real wages," he said.

«Certainly, the wage increase is a priority, but the first place should be given to the technological development of enterprises. This is where the government sees the future,» Sergei Sidorski said, answering the questions of «Polotsk-Steklovolokno» workers.

According to the head of government, every business should develop new kinds of competitive products and significantly increase their production volumes, as well as should build high-tech production, BelTA informs.

In addition, Sergei Sidorski set a goal for petrochemical companies to become transparent in the forthcoming five-year period, which is to join the multinational companies. «One can create such companies with the operating ones, but, in fact, one may strive to promote its products to the markets of third countries and be demanded there,» he said.
