Wages in Belarus to Increase from November, Snopkov

Next increase in tariff rate of the first class is planned to be realized in Belarus from November 1 this year. It was stated on July 27 by Economy Minister, Nikolai Snopkov, at a meeting of the Council of Ministers. "From November 1, the tariff rate of the first class will be increased up to 118-120 thousand rubles", the head of the Ministry of Economy said.

 At the same time, Nikolai Snopkov recalled that since the beginning of summer, first-class rate was established to be 90 thousand rubles. «To filfil the task to ensure the growth of wages in real sector of economy in terms of coverage of the situation in public sector is urgent», Minister of Economy emphasized, BelTA informs.

«The indicators for the first half of the year to increase wages in real sector are performed by 99.7% in the Republic in general. Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Trade, Energy Ministry, Construction and Architecture Ministry as well as all regions, except Minsk region, did not carry out calculated indicators of wages growth for January-June», Nikolai Snopkov stated.

According to the head of the Ministry of Economy, while maintaining current tendency, GDP growth paces basing on the results of this year are estimated lower than predicted 107.5% at present. «However, there are not ensured implementation of such important parameters of socio-economic development as investment in fixed capital, exports of goods and services, agricultural products. Also, there are no signs of reaching established indicators of population incomes growth», Nikolai Snopkov stressed.

The minister also added that to reach at least the lower limit of predicted value of GDP growth rate (111%) in 2010 and ensure set parameters of economic growth of five-year plan, in the second half there should be achieved some growth paces. Thus, according to Nikolai Snopkov, in industry they should make 111.2%, in agriculture — 115.7%, in retail trade — 115%, in investment in fixed capital — 142%. In other sectors, forming the GDP, at least 110%, while the growth rate of exports of goods and services must be maintained at the level of the first half — 127%, the head of Ministry of Economy underlined.

«Till the end of the year, we should fully use reserves, available in the country, to stimulate domestic demand, including through wages increase. It gradual growth should be implemented from September 1 this year, as it was planned. In this case, in next months before the end of the year we’ll get desired result to form GDP», Minister of Economy summed up.
