Alexander Lukashenko has set the task to double national economic potential in the next five years. The statement was made by the chairman of the National Bank, Pyotr Prokopovich, on April 23. According to this, export potential, as he said, should be increased in 4-5 times.
«It’s quite difficult but feasible task, which realization should be begun this year», Pyotr Prokopovich said. The head of the National Bank believes that these investment projects -currently implemented to fulfill this task — are not enough.
«The year of 2010 is the beginning of a radical restructuring and modernization of the country’s economy», BelTA quotes Pyotr Prokopovich. According to him, the state is doing everything possible to develop production and business in Belarus, to the further economy liberalization.
Moreover, there set the targets to enter the thirty of the best countries in terms of doing business and raise not lower than the 50th position on the human development index. «If we want to live well, we must learn to work according international standards», Pyotr Prokopovich said.
