Belarus Team Wins the First Match at World Hockey Championship

On Sunday, May 9, Belarus national hockey team under the leadership of Eduard Zankovets held the first match at the World Championship in Germany. The rival of Belarusian squad in the opening match was a hockey team of Kazakhstan. The match was won by Belarusinas with a score of 5:2 (0:0, 2:2, 3:0).

During the game, Belarusian team was two goals loosing to the rival, but managed to summon its strength and ended the match with a decisive victory, Sport-Belarus informs.

The players of Belarus national team who scored in this game are: Dmitry Meleshko, Mikhail Stefanovich, Alexei Kalyuzhny, Ruslan Salei and Sergey Demagin.

Belarusian goalkeeper in this match was Vitaly Koval, who urgently replaced Andrei Mezin, who he felt unwell on the eve of the game.
