President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with residents of Petrykov district, Gomel region, on April 27 stated that Belarus has just started to go out of the "severe crisis". "World's leading states fell into the pit, they are to be blamed, and dragged the entire world's economy, including us. We were able to cling to the edge of the abyss, and we start to get out", the president said.
According to the head of state, gradual increase is observed in all sectors of economy. «So, there is a hope that in six months we’ll return to pre-crisis level, including the level of wages», BelTA quotes the words of Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that in 2011 the revenues of agriculture will be up to three billion dollars. «On the one hand, it is good, but on the other — it may be helpless», the president said. «Because there are many envious people: something like, they have no oil and gas there, however, they live better, so, they seem to live at our expense».
«We live thanks to our hands, our callosities, as used to live everywhere in our country», the president added. According to Alexander Lukashenko, despite advances in the economy we should not relax, because «it can unexpectedly strike from the side you do not expect». «We must revive, refresh this region, you and your children to live pleasantly here», the president underlined.
Pripyat Polesie to become a real gem of Belarus, Lukashenko
According to Belarusian leader, Pripyat Polesie in the next five years will get a completely new look. «In the next five years, we will certainly adorn Polesie, make it a gem. We’ve completely changed the image of this piece of land and are ready to bring this work to the end», Alexander Lukashenko said.
That’s why the president stressed that the state «will only help in this work, and all the basic work will up to Polesie’s people. Alexander Lukashenko recalled adopted program, in which planned all the activities to revive Polesie, there assigned the necessary funds.
Speaking of Pripyat Polesie land reclamation, the president stressed that the funding of relevant state program not to be reduced in any case. «As I have said, beginning from the next five-year plan, land reclamation will become a core program», Alexander Lukashenko said. «There will be money, because the program of rural development has been already completed, we’ll also finish agro-towns construction, therefore, there will no expensive projects and we’ll have available assets».
Belarusian leader also reminded that the major work on the land reclamation should be implemented in the coming three years. «New land not to be reclaimed, we’ll only recover the systems — which’s come in desolation since the Soviet era. We must work thriftily. In addition, reclaimed land will be monitored not to fail in desolation again», the head of state noted.
Addressing the locals, Alexander Lukashenko noted that he’s known this region and all its problems for a long time, adding that Belarus is successfully overcoming the global crisis.
