Year's Real Wages Grew by 15% in Belarus, Belstat

Real wages, adjusted for the growth in consumer prices for goods and services, increased by 14.9% in January-December 2010 against the same period in 2009. This is evidenced by data from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus. In this case real wages grew by 10.6% in December 2010 compared with November 2010.

So, according to the Ministry of Statistics, gross average wage of workers in Belarus totaled Br1.59 million in December last year (Br1.42 million — in November 2010); office workers’ salaries — Br1.61 million (Br1.45 million — in November 2010).

In this case, the nominal average wage of workers amounted to Br1.238 million  in January-December 2010, including Br1.595 million in December, thus having increased by 11.7% or Br167.5 thousand against November 2009.

Average wage at industrial enterprises amounted to Br1.729 million, at construction organizations — Br1.983 million, at transport services — Br1.751 million, agriculture — Br993.2 thousand.

The average salary of workers in the trade and public catering was Br1.336 million; health care — Br1.447 million, including doctors — Br2.477 million, the nursing staff — Br1.38 million; educational institutions — Br1.29 million, including teachers — Br1.494 million and the faculty — Br2.562 million.
