Belneftekhim Board completed negotiations with Russian oil suppliers on the terms of oil deliveries to Belarus on January 25. According to the press secretary of the Belarusian Concern Marina Kostuchenko, the process of paperwork for transporting oil to Belarusian refineries is currently underway.

In turn, spokesman for the Russian company Transneft Igor Diomin said that deliveries of Russian oil to Belarus might be resumed in the evening of January 25 owing to the agreements reached on the fuel price. «Deliveries will be resumed after our controlling management receives all necessary documents,» IA «REGNUM-Belarus» quoted Igor Diomin.

According to the draft energy budget of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in 2011, stipulated by the parties in December 2010, this year’s oil supplies to Belarus from Russia could amount to 21.7 million tons, including 18 million tons by pipelines, BelTA informs.

As Telegraf previously reported, according to the existing agreement between the parties, Belarus shall receive duty free Russian oil without volume restrictions from January 1, 2011. Nevertheless, Russian oil companies insist on $ 45 more per ton of oil, supplied to Belarus. This is explained by the rise in world oil prices, as well as by Belarus’s 12.5% oil transit tariff increase from February 1. In January, Russia was to have supplied Belarus with 1.5 million tons of oil.
